Christmas cookies....

I did it...I escaped being a single mother for a night and went to our NICU Christmas Party. It was a good time...and I unfortunately felt that the next day. It was great to get out...next time need to arrange daycare for the next day as well.Nikki and I

and with a few drinks

Mom came down that next day...she braved the bad weather..that only got worse as she drove...THANK YOU for coming MOM! Here is Mia and Nana cuddling..with a bottle.

and of course no bad..horrible weather could keep us away. Mom had planned to do some Christmas shopping with me...and kept those plans. To the mall we went, and look who was there. Once again..stupid camera...

and Mia liked Santa again.

she did however...like the big Christmas tree with decorations.

While I was working the next day...Nana and Vincent made some christmas cookies...and check out his new Christmas apron!

First you got to roll the dough...like so

Then...push the cookie cutters down.

and then a couple days later...we went to our friends Jaime's house to make cookies and Gingerbread houses...

here's Jaime...making the goodies

the kids and their gingerbread houses

Well this..was actually before we started...I messed up the order!

Vincent focusing hard...on frosting the gingerbread house

Leela...taste testing the frosting...note the knife....priceless.

Making his house perfect...
Mommy trying to show Vincent to put the candy on the house...instead of eating it. That was a task in itself.

Getting the hang of it...one piece on the house...two in the mouth???
Jaime..helping Leela with her house
Nikki putting on the final touches to their house
Then we decorated cookies...Vincent enjoying his masterpiece

I am trying really hard to get in the Christmas spirit this year..its just a little harder than normal with Chris not here. We got the Christmas tree up and decorated...which the decorations are constantly moving to different spots. We have listened to Christmas music...Vincent learned We Wish you a Merry Christmas and Jingle Bells at school...so we have been practicing those alot. We've made cookies a few times...told Santa several time what we want...and then comes the shopping it pretty much done...of course nothing wrapped yet. Shopping was a challenge itself...I did not enjoy it much this year..just makes me all emotional. Oh well...life goes on. We have sent a Chris a couple of packages..which he has received some of them...with more to hopefully come soon. I guess the guys are all jealous of his superman snuggie that Vincent helped pick out and his Starbucks knockoff Coffee Cup....so thats good...right? We miss him so much..but thankfully we are able to skype alot.
After leaving Jaime's that night...Mia decided to feed herself yogurt..its a good thing it was bath night!
She did really good getting the spoon to her mouth. She also was really good at getting some up her nose. After we were all done eating...we had to suck tons of yogurt out of her nose...YUMMY! She didn't seem to mind...she actually laughed this time...but not any other time I do that.

Christmas....getting ready

The other weekend the ARMY FRG...families celebrated Christmas together. It was a great time to catch up with everyone that I don't get to see very often. Santa even came....Vincent was so excited. He told santa he wanted Buzz and Woody and some Bubbles??? So Santa better bring him something good! Mia on the other hand didn't want to tell Santa what she wanted.

Vincent and Mia with Santa
Mia not enjoying her time with Santa

Vincent letting Santa know everything...he wanted a 2nd turn and eventually got it!

Cousin Harley came with us..

The Army kids...with Santa...and Mia still trying to escape!

We made gifts for our Daddy's...Vincent ate this goodied though...just too good to send!
Trying so hard to make Daddy a pretty decoration for his room and to hold a picture of him and Mia
One of Santa's reindeer...
Attempting a christmas tree pic with the kids...as you can tell they didn't really care.

I thought about doing Christmas cards this year...even tried to get some cute pics of the kids...car cards....they didn't want to stay still..my pics are blurry and well...time is running out..So happy holidays from us...maybe I will get Valentine's cards out instead?!?
